It is the mission of the Los Angeles Police Department to commit to protect the lives, property and rights of all people, to maintain order and to enforce the law. Patrol Operations is made up of Los Angeles Police Department PO I, PO II and PO III. Officers within Patrol Operations conduct day to day operations in and around the city of Los Angeles. LAPD officers are held to a high standard and maintain a respectable public image.
