On Jan. 12, 2025, Anthony Fischer was appointed as the 1st Police Chief for the City of Long Beach. He oversees the second largest municipal police agency in Los Angeles County, which provides law enforcement services to the seventh-largest city in California, as well as contracted services to the Port of Long Beach, Long Beach Airport, Long Beach Transit, and Long Beach City College.
